Children in Year 2 – 6 all have a login for their ‘Times Tables Rock Stars’ accounts and are encouraged to use this to practise daily at home. Children should aim to complete regular ‘Garage’ sessions, and have been encouraged to compete in ‘Rock Slams’ with classmates to create a little friendly rivalry and competition!
As your child plays Times Tables Rock Stars at home, please note that some of the areas are for children to practise times tables set by teachers, and some of the areas allow the children to practise all times tables up to 12×12. The areas where teachers set times tables are ‘Garage‘ and ‘Arena‘. These areas have been updated by teachers, and are ready for your children to practise!
Children in Reception – Year 1 all have a login for their ‘Numbots’ accounts and are encouraged to use this to practise daily at home. Pupils choose their own Bot before launching into ‘Story’ and ‘Challenge’ modes, where the algorithm takes care of their learning.
For most effective practice, we suggest playing for at least 3 minutes a day, 4 or 5 times a week.
St Matthew’s follows the White Rose Schemes of Learning . During this time of potential school closures, White Rose will continue to produce daily ‘home learning’ lessons for Years 1-9. Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child complete the activity successfully. The videos include moments when children can pause and have a go at questions that are displayed on screen.
