At St Matthew’s, we compliment our curriculum with additional music.
This is our school singing a song for our Remembrance Day assembly.
Our school choir is fantastic and has performed across the community including Stretford Grammar School and Stretford Mall. Here is a clip of our choir singing Christmas songs at Stretford Mall.
All children are encouraged to learn a musical instrument and we can provide funds for instrument rental. Children in Years 2, 4 and 6 are also taught how to play a musical instrument for a term by a Trafford Music Service teacher as part of the First Access project. Over the years, children have learnt how to play a variety of instruments including trumpets, trombones, saxophones, clarinets, recorders, violins, guitars and steel pan drums!
This term St Matthew’s have been learning percussion instruments in Year 4. Please come and join us for our end of our workshop performance where we will be showcasing all the percussion skills we have been learning.
The performance will take place on 29th November 2017 at 2.30 in our school hall.
