Today, Year 6 went on a trip to Ordsall Hall. When we got there, we went into the Great Hall to learn about the Lords and Lordesses. We were selected to play different roles in a Tudor wedding and were seated around the table. Some of us played servants and had to serve the food. We thought carefully about the differences between the lives of the rich and the poor. Then, we explored the grounds, including the bedrooms and gardens. We looked at the different types of clothes that Tudors wore and some of the herbs that they grew to flavour their food. Inside the kitchen, we looked at the food they ate and the meals they made. We compared their lifestyles with our lifestyles today and some of us stated that we would have liked to have lived back then, but others claimed that they wouldn’t be able to live without their washing machines, fridges and electronic devices!
