Recently, whilst out in the field, the children noticed how many apples there were on the apple trees. They started to pick them and ended up with a whole bowl that was overflowing. We thought about what we could do with the apples and the children decided they wanted to make apple pies. First we tested the apples to see how they tasted. They were sweet and juicy – perfect for apple pies!
In groups, the children rolled and cut the pastry for the pies and filled them with the stewed apples. Once they had been baked, they were able to enjoy the freshly made pies!
