St Matthew’s enjoyed an AMAZING play called ‘Happily Ever After’ with our Juniors today.
The play is based on the children’s book ‘King and King’ and tells the story of two princes who fall in love. The play explores different families, same-sex relationships, equal marriage and the negative impact of homophobia. We are proud to be one of the first schools in Greater Manchester to support this project and help teach our children about the diverse society they live in.
Following the play the children listened to the actors and LGBT young people as part of a Q&A session. The children then returned to class to discuss what they had learned and create artwork inspired by the message of the play. Great stuff!
