In sketching this week (25/09/17) we practised a variety of skills and techniques. We started off by having a go at a little exercise in pairs. Each person created a squiggle on a piece of paper and the other partner had to turn in into a picture. The emphasis on this task was for the children to use their imaginations and creative skills.
We then put into practise previously taught skills by drawing a portrait of a human face in a step-by-step activity. The children produced some fantastic pieces of work showcasing their shading and drawing skills.
The last part of our lesson focused on still life drawing. The children first looked at examples of other peoples work, discussing what they liked/disliked about them before attempting some sketches themselves of various pieces of fruit. The results are brilliant and show how much the children have progressed with their sketching techniques in such a short period of time.
