Welcome to Year Two!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer, I have already heard some fantastic things about the children’s holidays.
I hope you are looking forward to the year ahead. This page will give you news about events and learning in our class.
Below are some important bits of information:
Please have a look at our timetable to see what lessons we are doing.
Parent Reading Workshop Information
A huge thank you to all of the parents who were able to attend our Reading Workshop on 28th September 2018. We hope you found the information helpful. Understandably, not all parents were able to attend, so we have attached the presentation and handouts from the meeting below.
If you were unable to attend, please download a copy and take a look. They are packed with information on how we teach reading across school from Nursery-Y2, as well as, information to help support your child at home.
Below is a parent document to explain how handwriting is taught across EYFS & KS1. This year we are making a change to how we teach handwriting in the Infants. Children will now be taught how to join up their ‘Special Friend’ Sounds, as they learn them in Phonics. This means children will begin joining some letters from the end of reception and in Y1, much earlier than in previous years. We hope you will find this useful!
If you have any questions or concerns, please come and see me.
